The Falcondale Hotel in Lampeter has been given a Gold Award from visit Wales for the quality of its accommodation, food and warm welcome.
Only the top establishments quality for gold, and The Falcondale now joins the ranks of Michelin star Tyddyn Llan in Denbighshire.
The latest award follows on from the hotel owners. Chris and Lisa Hutton, being appointed tourism ambassadors as part of the Cambrian Mountains Initiative.
The appointment recognised the hotel’s contribution to the local economy, use of local food, and contribution to the overall sustainability of the region.
“We are delighted with our Gold Award status,” says Mr Hutton. ‘Our aim is always to put our guests first, and to ensure that they want for nothing when they visits us. Word-of-mouth recommendations are all important, and happy guests will go away and spread the word. Our food is also a big draw for guests, and we have achieved a number of accolades for the quality of our cuisine.”
“We are also part of Welsh Rarebits, a collection of independently-run, quality hotels in Wales, and feel that having a distinctive flavour is what marks us out as being somewhere special to visit.”
