The five-star Lough Eske Castle is located just outside Donegal Town, nestled within 43-acres of forest woodland hugging the shores of Lough Eske. With rugged mountain terrain, vast wildlife and luscious country side, the 96 room castle and its surroundings provide the perfect setting for an active adventure, whilst the castle itself and its five star spa and dining facilities, offers well earned luxury.
Perfect for father-son bonding breaks, stag weekends, or boys’ getaways, the Lough Eske Castle Ultimate Boy Scout Challenge weekend (which starts at €425 per person sharing / £365 sterling pps), consists of three days of adrenalin pumping activities. Tasks undertaken challenge you on every basic level of survival from finding food, building shelter and keeping warm and safe and include designing and building shelters and fires from scratch, trapping and cooking your own food, learning to make arrows, setting fishing nets and even going on a hunt.
Whether you want to reconnect with the fearless child inside of you or just spend some quality time with your son, friends or loved ones, the challenges tick all your boxes. The weekend concludes with a raft building and sailing competition, where contestants will have to maneuver around the lake islands and recover hidden markers.
Over the two night / three day weekend guests will also get to enjoy the luxurious amenities available at this historic Five star Castle. A sumptuous breakfast and dinner will be provided on both nights and finally a lavish lunch on Sunday, when the Ultimate Boy Scout will be crowned!
