If you are looking for a magical and unforgettable way to spend Christmas with your loved ones, then look no further than Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.
Christmas in Tivoli Gardens is a popular Christmas tradition amongst Copenhageners as well as visitors to the city. If you are in Copenhagen during the months of November and December, you do not want to miss Tivoli’s Christmas market, decorations, lights and entertainment.
This Christmas in Tivoli Gardens, guests will be welcomed by a new Nordic setting with Father Christmas residing in the Pantomime Theatre, built in 1874. The stalls and decorations take inspiration from Danish and Scandinavian tradition and live reindeer add to the Christmas feel.
A new addition to the scenery will be Nutcracker decorations linking the gardens to the splendid new production of the Nutcracker, which opened in the Tivoli Concert Hall on the 22nd November 2012.
The traditional Christmas market contains about 50 stalls along the pathways of Tivoli selling gifts, decorations, hot drinks to keep you warm and sweets and food.
Between Christmas and New Year, from 26th – 30th December, you can also experience the annual Fireworks Festival. And for the first time in 13 years, Tivoli Gardens will be open for dinner reservations on New Year’s Eve, followed by fireworks at midnight.
