Ireland is made up of four provinces - Ulster, Munster, Leinster and Connacht. 32 counties are within these provinces with 26 within the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland has 6 counties.

History

Ireland has a rich and diverse heritage with many historical remnants which have lasted the times. These remains include burial sites and tombs from 3000 BC as well as ring forts from the Bronze and Iron Ages.

Languages

Irish (Gaelic) and English are the two official languages for the Republic of Ireland, all the road signs and streets are billingual.

You will find that English is spoken and understood throughout the country making it the international language of choice

Currency and Economy

The EURO is the local currency of the Republic of Ireland 100 euro cents = 1 Euro

In Northern Ireland the same currency as the United Kingdom is used, the POUND Sterling.

The currencies are not interchangeable.
