Ystad has been shaped and formed throughout the centuries by the merchants and shipping folk who have played an important role in the development of this wonderful town. The glorious, oft 300 year, old half-timbered houses made of oak and handmade bricks pay homage to this bygone period in time while the grand 19th century mansions add to the tales of the bygone years.

It is for no uncertain reason that Ystad was voted Town Centre of the Year 2007, with their caring shown via the well-tendered gardens, vibrant boutiques, fine entertainment, recreation and a superb selection of where to eat, your batteries will soon be recharged.
